Description
Orangespine Unicornfish. Naso elegans. One of my favorites in the Red Sea.
This fish is widespread in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean as far east as Bali.
Orangespine unicornfish are characterised as having two pairs of modified scales on the base of their tail that are very sharp. They can be made out very well in the orangespine unicornfish, as the fish is black and the scales orange.
Its maximum size is 50 cm / 19,5 inches.
