Copperband Butterflyfish are found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea to Hawaii and Australia. In latin: Chelmon rostratus. These fish are easily identified by the yellow banding and long snout. The young fish are similar in appearance to adult fish. This butterflyfish grows up to 20 cm (7,5 inches) in length. Copperband butterflyfish are found at depths of 1−25 m (3-80 feet) either alone or in pairs. They are usually found on coral reefs or rocky shorelines.
